Katisha

Hi, I’m Katisha, the Founder & CEO of The Essence of Travel. My love for travel has always been about more than just getting on a plane and visiting a new place. For me, travel is about the feeling you get when you step into a new culture, the connections you make with people along the way, and the moments that shift your perspective on the world.

I created The Essence of Travel because I believe travel should feel inspiring, seamless, and meaningful. Too often, people feel overwhelmed trying to plan the perfect trip or miss out on incredible experiences because they don’t know where to start. My goal is to remove that stress and replace it with excitement, clarity, and unforgettable memories.

Through thoughtfully curated experiences and concierge-level planning, I help travelers explore the world with confidence — whether it’s a group adventure, a milestone celebration, or a long-dreamed-of destination.

I recently traveled to Cartagena, Colombia for my 40th birthday, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional service I received from Katisha/ The Essence of Travel.

This trip was planned last minute, and I was extremely indecisive about certain details and excursions, especially the catamaran experience. Katisha was incredibly patient with me and was consistently a calm voice of reason throughout the entire process. Even with several members of my group being non-responsive at times, she went above and beyond to ensure everything came together seamlessly.

Her communication and commitment to excellence were unmatched. From the very start of planning until I returned home to the United States, she was on call and in constant communication. She coordinated every single piece of the puzzle…. from the vacation rental owner to transportation companies to the house manager, making sure everything flowed effortlessly.

What truly touched my heart was that she even surprised me with a birthday gift, a card, and decorations waiting for me when I boarded the catamaran. That moment meant so much to me. I truly felt the love and care she pours into her clients.

Because of her, I didn’t have to think about a single detail during my stay. I was able to completely relax and thoroughly enjoy my milestone birthday.

I’m now planning my return to Colombia next year, along with a 20th wedding anniversary tour of Europe in July! Katisha is my travel agent exclusively. I am so grateful for her and pray God continues to bless her career. She truly has a gift, and I’m beyond grateful ♥️✈️🌍
